RadioGH - Vintage Blend

DEREK HAMILTON presents VINTAGE BLEND every Thursday at 7.00pm. The programme is an old style Scottish Dance Music programme featuring a different band each week. Bands from the 40s 50s and 60s are predominantly the participants here although the 70s will feature occasionally.

Drawing information provided in Jimmy Helm's excellent Book Who's on the Dance Music Tonight?, Derek will not only feature the music but some information about the members etc.

The programme, like all Radio GH programmes, is repeated at several times during the week making convenient listening times for our overseas listeners as well as those here in the UK and Ireland.

Thanks to the kindness of Farquahar Matheson we have secured many recordings of the bands of the 1960s. Ian Powrie, Jim Johnstone, Ian Holmes, Fraser McGlynn, Max Houliston, Hamish Menzies, Jimmy Blue, Andrew Rankine.
